How to make a mocha with Keurig

Making this creamy chocolate mocha with your Keurig is easy, easy, easy.

how to make a mocha with keurig

Once you’ve tasted homemade Keurig mocha it’s quite difficult to return to store-bought mocha k-cups.

Start with good dark roasted k-cup, and go from there. You can make the chocolate “base” with cocoa powder, chocolate chips or chocolate sauce, whatever you prefer. Next, add some fresh milk and sugar and you’re done.

KEURIG MOCHA RECIPE

Ingredients:
1 k-cup, brewed at 4 cup setting
1/2 cup milk, heated
1 teaspoon cocoa powder or 2-3 tablespoons chocolate sauce/ chips
sugar to taste
whipped cream for garnish

Directions:
Heat the milk until steaming and stir in cocoa powder/ chocolate sauce. Whisk together until smooth and frothy. Place a cup with milk in place to brew, and brew 1 k-cup at smallest cup setting. Taste and add sugar to taste. Garnish with whipped cream.

Makes 1 serving.

Notes:
– If your Keurig doesn’t have a 4 oz cup size, brew at 6 oz cup setting and add only 2 oz milk. I recommend using 2% or whole milk.
– This recipe is easily adaptable for any friends who avoid dairy. Use cocoa powder and substitute regular milk with an equal amount of almond, rice or coconut milk.
– Add a few drops of peppermint extract or 2 tablespoons crushed peppermint candies to the recipe, and you’ll have a delicious peppermint mocha.
– If you’d like to make white chocolate mocha, use 1 dark roasted k-cup, 1/2 cup milk, and 3 tablespoons white chocolate chips.

Enjoy!

Umm, YUM!!!! I tried this at home and I used the chocolate chips and milk and sugar as stated, but my k cup was a breakfast blend. It was DELISH!!! I’m going to try it with a dark roast next (after a run to the grocery store). Thanks!!!!
