Make a delicious iced coffee with your French press anytime, in less than 6 minutes.
Who doesn’t like the French press?! It’s effortless and makes a tasty, bold cup of coffee. But not only that – making iced coffee in a French press is really quick and easy!
There are two ways to do it: you can make a cold brew concentrate and keep it in your fridge, or use the recipe below. This recipe makes freshly brewed iced coffee, in less than 6 minutes, and no planning required!
You start by brewing double strong coffee in your coffee press. Next, you pour the coffee slowly over the ice cubes, add milk and sugar and that’s it. This iced coffee couldn’t be simpler.
HOW TO MAKE ICED COFFEE IN A FRENCH PRESS
4 tablespoons coffee, coarsely ground
8 ounces water
1 cup ice cubes
8 oz cold milk, or half and half
Prepare coffee: Rinse your empty French press with hot water to warm up the press. Discard the rinse water and add 4 tablespoons coarsely ground coffee to the press. Bring water to a boil, remove from heat, and wait for a few seconds. Pour the hot water just off the boil into your brewer. Give the coffee a stir with a spoon, making sure all the coffee is saturated. Allow the coffee to brew for 4 minutes.
While you’re waiting, prepare glasses – fill two tall glasses half full with ice. At 3:50 put the plunger on and gently press all the way down at 4:00.
Pour: pour coffee really slowly over ice cubes, between two prepared cups. Do a little pour at the time. To finish, add 4 oz cold milk or half and half into each cup, stir well, taste, and sweeten to taste.
Makes 2 servings.
You could add some vanilla syrup to the recipe for an iced vanilla latte, or add 2 tablespoons caramel sauce and make your own iced caramel latte.
For Vietnamese iced coffee, prepare coffee, add 2 rich tablespoons sweetened condensed milk and splash in half and half. Stir and sweeten to taste.
