Make your own homemade Starbucks drinks using nothing more than regular coffee, coffee syrup and milk.
It’s so easy. There’s no need to torture yourself with those 10 ingredient copycat Starbucks recipes. Good coffee, fresh milk and few drops of syrup is all you need to make a delicious cup of coffee at home. These homemade drinks have less calories and if you use almond or coconut milk you will have a really healthy version of your favorite coffee. The possibilities are almost endless. Not to mention that making your own coffee at home will save you money. So, how to use syrup in coffee?
Use 2 tbsp syrup for every 8 ounces drink. If you’re making 12 ounce drink use 3 tbsp or use 4 tbsp for a 16 ounce drink. Let’s put everything in a recipe:
MY BASIC FLAVORED LATTE RECIPE, FOR BREWED COFFEE
1/2 cup freshly brewed coffee
1/2 cup hot milk
2 tbsp syrup of your choice (Starbucks / Torani)
sugar to taste, whipped cream for garnish
Brew coffee. Add 2 tbsp syrup (if making 8 ounce cup, or 3 tbsp if making 12 ounces) and stir. Heat up the milk in the microwave until steaming or froth with the milk frother. Add sugar to achieve the level of sweetness that you like and stir. Garnish with whipped cream.
MY BASIC FLAVORED LATTE RECIPE, FOR ESPRESSO
1 double espresso shot (2 oz)
6 ounces steamed milk
2 tbsp syrup of your choice
sugar to taste
Pull out 1 double espresso shot – 2 oz. Add 2 tbsp flavored syrup and stir. Pour 6 oz cold milk into the steam pitcher and foam the milk slightly. Add to your espresso.
How many tablespoons in a pump of syrup? Usually 1 pump = 1/2 tbsp = 1/4 ounce. So, for a regular serving size you need 4 pumps.
