Thanks for stopping by!
This morning I invited my lovely sister to come by and join me for a cup of coffee. Because, today I reviewed a very special coffee, an offering from C&C Specialty Coffee: the Jamaican Blue Mountain Coffee.
Beautiful morning, family, home and good cup – it made me feel like I was living the perfect life.
Let me tell you more about the coffee… Jamaican Blue Mountain is one of those coffees you can find on “top 10 most expensive coffees in the world” lists. These coffee beans are grown only in the Blue Mountains of Jamaica. And those I got are 100% Jamaican Blue Mountain Beans – grade 1, which means that this coffee is the best of the best.
I always enjoyed that first scent you get when opening a bag of freshly roasted coffee beans. And this one smells wonderful. I also loved a really dark brown color and nice texture of the drink. But the very moment I took the first sip I got a full picture about why this coffee is so exclusive.
Based on the color and its aroma, I would expect this coffee to be really strong and maybe too bitter. But I got something completely different. Full body, intense flavor and not a trace of bitterness nor acidity. This coffee left me with no words.
Woody aroma, touched with herbs and flowers and just a hint of dark Swiss chocolate in the background. Exotic, unique taste. Intense but not bitter, lively without acidity. Incredibly balanced. Long aftertaste kept all these characteristics and gave a perfect finish.
Did I find any flaws? Not a single one. This is something I like to call a perfect cup.
And here’s something interesting. Even though my sister never drinks her coffee without sugar and milk (on the other hand, I am a black coffee gal), this time she did. The “no acidity and bitterness” thing and natural sweetness of the beans, resulted in amazingly drinkable cup. The kind of taste that you don’t want to spoil by adding any extra ingredients.
This coffee is not a regular cup. But, unfortunately nor is the price. Because one pound of 100% Jamaican Blue Mountain costs $38.00.
Now I know that many of you can’t afford to buy this coffee for a daily cup. Believe me, I have this same problem. But, this is why I like to consider these exclusive specialty coffees as my guilty pleasures. I usually drink regular (but quality, carefully chosen) coffees, and from time to time, I treat myself with a bag of high quality coffee beans. This is my way to treat myself to these special coffee moments.
You can do the same. If you don’t have a fat wallet, you might get this one for some special occasion or as a gift for someone you love. It would be such an exclusive gift. From this day, Jamaican Blue Mountain is one of my top 3 guilty pleasure coffees.
Now, I have something special ready for you. C&C Specialty Coffee is giving one lucky Coffee Stylish reader the chance to win one bag of 100% Jamaican Blue Mountain Coffee. How cool is that!!!
