Take a squeeze or two of hazelnut creamer, hot & fresh cup of coffee and you have a fantastic afternoon treat.
I know that this is really obvious, but one of the best ways to make good hazelnut coffee at home is just to keep things simple. Adding too many different flavors like when making those fancy iced-hazelnut-vanilla-chocolate coffees, usually results in pretty confusing taste.
Personally, I always feel that good hazelnut coffee needs nothing more than good & quality coffee creamer / syrup. Especially if you already have a blend that you really love.
How to use hazelnut coffee creamer?! Usually it’s one creamer single per cup – that’s 1 tablespoon if you’re using a bottled one. And, if you like big cups ( 10 oz and up), you will probably need 2 singles per cup / 2 tablespoons.
I like International Delight creamers. You can find them in bottles, creamer singles and they also have a sugar-free hazelnut creamer. Of course, if you love making things from scratch you can make your own coffee creamer at home.
You drink your coffee black but you still want the hazelnut flavor?! Then use hazelnut syrup instead. The recipe is the same. Start with 2 tablespoons (or a pump or two) of syrup, add coffee, stir and enjoy.
Now, if you don’t really like creamers & syrups you can always buy (pre)flavored coffees. The great thing about these coffees is that they usually have less calories and can give very nice & complex flavor. However, most flavored coffees are light to medium roasts, so they can sometimes feel light and thin, to those who like their coffee strong. But don’t worry, there’s a huge chance that you’ll find good flavored coffee.
Most grocery stores carry flavored coffees and most brands makes them – from Folgers, Millstone, Green Mountain Coffee, Dunkin’ Donuts… You can also find them in form of k-cups, vue cups, capsules or decaf.
